She worked as a graphic designer for several years after graduation--both in the Sacramento area and in San Luis Obispo--then she took her work "home" after becoming mom to her two children. She has more recently focused her efforts on watercolor landscape painting, which she studied under former Cal Poly instructor Robert Reynolds. She recently completed a show in San Luis Obispo, along with fellow art & design alum Eliza Nicholson. One of her paintings was also selected to be in the annual Aquarius Watercolor show at the San Luis Obispo Art Center in January 2005. Grant Shaffer

I like the flexibility of working when I want and being able to travel when I can. I live in Berkeley with my husband Tom Decker (ceramic artist and instructor). We have a daughter - Mira - born 2004. I'm still in love with photography and thinking this will support me in the 2nd half of my career... I left the Newspaper to drive around the perimeter of the US and photograph people who live there.
